hi i am think ing of getting one of these but would it work with google maps or would the limited 3 g be an issue , it will be for my daughter who has no sense of direction so in theroy will be the 3 g will be now and again

It's 250mb a month, isn't it? Should be plenty for a couple of Google Maps sessions a week.
The HP Slate has been fairly well slated in reviews, though - poor screen and a few build defects. Could your daughter not use a mobile phone data allowance? If you get her a tablet, it should be able to use the mobile phone's data allowance (through wifi or Bluetooth) so you won't have to settle for a poor-quality tablet like the Slate.Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
