And lets not forget that the new release of the Tiger OS has some of the functions that MS are planning to introduce in Longhorn - 18 months earlier!
As for being immune to viruses this is not true, both older MacOS and the newer Unix based OSes are still liable to virus and trojan attack, it's just not as prevalent as PC's ones, simply because there's less systems to target.
I read an article about this somewhere. The so called mac minority still consists of millions of users - of which, few, if any have ever had problems with virus'. We're not saying the system is immune to virus's - it just handles them so much better :)

OS X should handle them better, being Unix/BSD based. The number of Apple users may be in the millions but it's still peanuts against the number of PC and Windows users (Hint: not all PC users run Windows).

If it wasn't for Microsoft investing in Apple prior to the IMac launch, the IMac and the upturn in Apple's fortunes probably wouldn't have occurred. (They were struggling badly, most of the Mac's being sold were non-Apple ones using the Tanzania motherboard. All the Mac magazines were saying if you want a Mac don't guy one from Apple, get a clone they are cheaper and better spec).

You might find this interesting, it's written by a Mac Advocate being frustrated by the build quality of his G5. His feelings are similar to mine, if you market something as being reliable and largely trouble free then you have to make sure it is. He suggests this is not the case with Apple. I had heard from Mac users about build quality issues with the original iMacs.

For some people and some application the Mac is better, in others Windows is better, some Linux etc. I am not anti-Mac per say, I just don't like people saying it's all a bed of roses when it isn't. Being objective and balanced is the most important thing.
