    Device types and Android versions?

@DTMSM ... the Amazon app store is an app you can install (side load) on Android devices to be able to access Amazon's app store as ell as Google's play store. I used to have it on my Nexus 4 (but removed it because it seemed pointless).

It's not pointless at the moment when you can download some free apps and also get amazon coins .

The Amazon app store usually has a free app of the day.

Many of them are rubbish, but there are some occassional gems. It's how I got the 'paid' version of TuneIn Radio for free, as well as the ad-free versions of some of the Angry Birds games.

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but since there are people here who know something about the Amazon App store...

I can't find my earned Amazon coins anywhere. I installed some (free) apps where you supposedly earn 100 coins, but I can't find them anywhere on my Android device. My gf has a Kindle Fire HD and she can see her coins in the bottom right corner. My Google search was not very helpful. All hits say where I should see them, but they are not there.

Done it now via Bluetooth. You will see your coins on the amazon app itself in the top right hand corner :)

See post #3, we need to know your Android devices. Some devices don't allow side-loading. And we need to know your Android version to give you specific advice on how to load the apk.

It's sounds like you've managed downloading the Amazon app from the Google Play Store (let's call this Amazon app the "Amazon Shoppy App" - it should have a blue icon with a white shopping trolley on the front), and then inside the Amazon Shoppy App you've tried to run an app you've bought and it's told you that you need the Amazon App Store App (holy moly I can see why this causes so many problems!) and has asked you to accept the download.

I suspect that, assuming this has all worked OK, you just need to swipe down your main Android thing from the top, where you'll see the appstore's download progress. When it's downloaded, tap it and it should run.

Alternatively, go to your device's file browser and see if you can find the downloaded files folder. The .apk should be in there.

Frustrating, isn't it? Kindle Fire users get a lovely account balance of coins, but us peons don't! We have to look at a paid app while signed in. Just go to any android app (like this one) on the Amazon store that costs money, and it will offer you two choices:
    Use 1-Click Settings
    £4.99

    Buy now with Coins
    499 coins
    You have 2,242 coins.

I tend to do this on a PC Internet browser, but it should work on a tablet browser. If not, try going to the bottom of the Amazon page and viewing the full version (i.e. non-mobile version).
Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.

Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

It's driving me nuts. I don't see what you're describing. I'm logged in on my desktop. It said that GTA wasn't compatible with my device. So I chose Angry Birds Space and my coins (if I have any at all) are nowhere to be seen. I only have these options
    2hmmz40.jpg

And if I click on "Redeem a gift card..." I only get this

Something seems to be wrong here. Maybe I should contact customer service.

I got the full Microsoft office for mobile free.
