Are they worth it, are they any good. Any recommendations?

They are good source of natural light so surely will brighten up the room. Without seeing any drawings/pics I am unsure if the height of the lantern can be an issue
If the double hipped frames with up stands design causes a height issue and you would want to avoid the PP route then you can perhaps consider flat/flush design.
