Advice with annoying debt ageny
Comments
-
There is 2 letters
1st one is from Cabot Financial
Titled
External Agency Recovery Notification
it says
This letter is to notify you that as we have not come to a mutual agreement to repay you account, Cabot Financial will be passing your account out to Ruthbridge Limited, a debt collection agency.
This is the 1st time I have ever had any letter off any of these companies and seeing I have never had a bank account with Barclays they will just be ignored.
Ruthbridge Limited
Who have been instructed by Gabot Financial Europe Limited who have passed the above debt on to them for collection of the outstanding balance As they have been appointed as their agent.
I would post the letter but being a new user I can't post any links.0 -
Since your strategy is to ignore, you will have to put up with the phone calls. You can't stop those without dealing with the whole thing.
If you do get motivated to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) then let us know.
If you get a claim form or you start getting letters from solicitors firms you need to act. (A County Court claim will result in a judgement by default for the claimant if you do not defend it. This would legally make you responsible for the debt).
A prove it letter might not stop them taking it to court. It should do, but I suspect it depends which lowlife Ruthbridge punt this debt on to after consistent brickwalling by you.
EDIT - I found a link to a current Prove-It letter. (Thanks Fermi and National Debt Line).
