Eon removing warm assist tariff.

I came on here to moan about Eon stopping the warm assist tariff, not to have some condesending person infer that my figures are incorrect and that I should reduce my usage and then quote average figures which are completely irrelevant.Perhaps you could identify what uses the most in your house and reduce this a little. Even if you could reduce your usage by just a few hundred kwh you could save at least the £58 difference you'd be left with if you switched to First Utility and got the Warm Home discount.
That is what average figures are, average.
Also I would rather pay extra than do business with First Utility.Well there you go, for starters £1385 is a lot less than £1612

But I'm not, am I?If you are able to get the warm home discount of £140
I think you are confusing warm home and warm assist.0 -

I was only trying to help you save money. There are several other suppliers cheaper than staying with Eon, that aren't First Utility - EDF's August 2015 tariff for example.
No, I'm not confusing Warm Home with Warm Assist.
The Warm Home Discount Scheme is available with several suppliers for 2014/15:

I don't know whether you are eligible for it, but again it was just a suggestion to try to help you save money.0 -
I have just had a letter from Eon telling me that my warm assist tariff will be ending on 29th June and will be replaced with Eon's Energy Plan on 30th June and my costs will be increasing by £399 per year, an increase from £1200 to £1599 an increase of almost 34%.
Just a quick update st999 that I forgot to put in my reply last Friday.
If you decide to change supplier because of the ending of Warm Assist, we'll keep you on this tariff until the switch goes through. Provided, that is, your new supplier lets us know by 25 July 14 and the switch goes through within 6 weeks.
This option will have been in the letter you mentioned on Friday (usually on page 2).
Sorry I missed this out last week.

I thought warm assist was for elderly people who are on certain benefits. Of course the cloud cuckoo land folk who believe that every elderly person has their own home and has regular holidays and uses this tariff for greed likely forgets the numerous very elderly people with no savings and minimal pensions who will die from the increase in gas. Correspond to the person with dementia who will read the letter and forget and then winds up dead because their savings can't pay the gas or electricity and they have no money to pay for warmth as they get cut off. But no. As long as Eon fat cats can have their yachts that's fine. Corporate greed as usual.0

I thought this thread was dead and buried but there is always someone who drags up old posts.
For anyone interested, probably no one, I am now with the Coop and if I put my present tariff, fair and square into a comparison website, the cheapest tariff that is cheaper than my present tariff would save me a massive £5 a year from first utility, so I will stay with the Coop.0 -
Afternoon all.
Just thought I'd pop on to confirm, our old Warm Assist tariffs no longer exist.
There may be a few customers still on the fixed version of this tariff as their contracts haven't run out yet. We expect the last of these contracts to finish by the middle of next year.
When they do, unless customers tell us differently, they'll go on to our standard tariff.
As I mentioned previously, there aren't any restrictions or tie-ins with this tariff and customers can switch tariff/supplier at any time without penalty.
It's best anyone affected put their usage in kWh on to one of the comparison sites. This will list their options both with us and with the other suppliers.
Hope this is of interest.
