I'm really not sure if this is the right board for me so if not could someone please advise of where I should go!!! It's a long one so please stay with me
When my ex left he left me with alot of debt..He also left me with 2 kids and no forwarding address. I'm on Income support, I tried to pay off my debt but got no where, the bank extended my overdraft but It wasn't enough. I then got into the charges pit fall that many are in at the mo (which I am in the process of reclaiming) I went to the bank to ask for help and got no where, so I opened another account to have my benefits and bills go in/out and agreed that any money left in my new account I would put back into my old account to start to pay off my overdraft ( which really isn't that much, but when I have no money anyway it's the world).
So my problem.. I pay a fee on my old account where my overdraft is in order to keep the interest on my overdraft low, and I ahve also to pay the interest all in al about £35 a mth.. I asked the bank if they could freeze my account fee and my intrest for 12 mths to help me get on my feet, and they said they can't do that..
Is it possible for them to do that?? I could really do with the extra £35 a mth to help me with my day to day finances rather than lining the banks pockets.
Can anyone offer any advice or point me in the right direction
Many thanks in advance
Sarah
