Switching current accounts - Old statements?

Hello,
Im currently considering changing current accounts, however my main concern is what would happen to my old statements if I did switch? What Im basically asking is, if I needed to access my old statement with my old bank would I be able to or would switching current accounts basically mean my statement with my new bank would start from the date I switched? Hope this makes sense!
Thanks!

Certainly for credit cards most statements would not be available once a card is closed down.
Could you not save them in say a pdf format on your computer in case?
What are the chances of you needing any information anyway?
If it is that important to you convert any fee paying bank account to a free one then leave it open with a 1p in.0 -
If you want to use the switching service, and still want to have access to your statements from the old account, you have to file these statements yourself. Either electronically or on paper.
You do not have to use a switching service - you can just open another current account, move some or all of your incoming and outgoing payments yourself, and keep the old account.0
