Black Horse Finance PPI, reusing to help

Hi there
Had a Black Horse Finance loan in 2002-2003 for 70000, which was paid off with a 6650 settlement payment in 2003. I have a 12 digit account number and no paperwork.
The account number checks out with Black Horse but they are saying its one of a selected "older" bunch of 12 digit account numbers that are being dealt with by Lloyds. they put me through to Lloyds who, surprise, surprise told me it was a Black horse account and to contact the very people who had just put me through to them at their advice! I did that and got them to speak to Lloyds, while I waited on the phone. I was then told, neither could help me but both acknowledged that the account number checked out but neither had access, and couldn't advise further. I am fairly sure PPI was on this loan, but am stuck as to what to do know after the hours I have spent on the phone. Should I send something in writing? Hope someone can help, cheers Steve

Send a SAR letter if you want to see what's been kept on file for you. This will cost you £10.
Eleven years after your last payment, though, detailed payment records are likely to have been deleted.0 -

Or possibly not deleted, I have received detailed information dating back to the early 90s from some financial institutions.

That's why I suggested sending the SAR. However, for every report like yours there are fifty complaining that the Bank have destroyed information older than six years in line with data protection.Or possibly not deleted, I have received detailed information dating back to the early 90s from some financial institutions.
There is more chance (although it is by no means a certainty) that the Bank will have kept the information if the potential complainant is still a customer of the Bank.
In other words, the £10 fee is a gamble.0
