6mm Thread Half Moon Nuts

Evening all,
This may be a silly question but I just wanted to be 100% sure.
I'm trying to fix my bed, the old half moon nuts were all broken so I have purchased some new ones with a 6mm thread.
The new ones don't go on my old bed bolts.
Do I need a 6mm thread bolt as well or 5mm?

So when I buy a bolt for my 6mm half moons the bolt thread needs to be 6mm??

6mm nuts fit 6mm bolts.This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0
