Hi people, i'm just after advice really. I have recently switched provider due to the bad customer service from Npower. To cut a very long story short npower has estimated my bills since December 2012. In August 2013 they changed the electric meter and I was told the display wasn't working, it was blank. They again estimated the bill and between Jan 13 and July 13 I was in dept by £689 by their estimation. I have now been sent a final bill for over £1000!!

I am not sure where Npower are getting their figures from seen as the meter was blank, I have also tried to explain that there are less people now in the home for some time. And why is the bill now over £1000 when it was £689 a few weeks ago!!

I have sent an email of complaint and had no reply. I have spoken to them and they said they would put a dispute on the account. And I have provided them with a weeks reading as they requested and still no joy!!

Npower are so poor and try their best to confuse you!!

Has this happened to anybody else? Next step is the Ombudsman!

Hi yes we have a nightmare of a story so don't hold your breath, we have had issues since 2010, raised so many complaints you wouldn't believe it, been with the ombudsman since Feb, they told Npower to sort it within 28day, which was about 16th March, still not sorted. Ombudsman came to an agreement both of us agreed to it, but nothing, now even the ombudsman has not responded to two emails.

I want to know what to do next, we were mis-sold, mis-billed mis-direct debited, told lies loads of them, owe them over 1k got reduction of about £500 but it is still not sorted. so wait your 8 weeks ask for a deadlock letter (that took them 3weeks) and try the ombudsman, but don't hold your breath!
