chromecast help please

My wife has just installed a new chromecast device..

She can view YouTube, BBC Iplayer etc ok ( from IPAD to TV )

But she has an app called CARTOON HD on IPAD which has loads of movies ( streamed ) but she cannot get this to display on TV .

She dosnt get the little chromecast symbol in top right hand corner of IPAD screen ( she does get symbol for YouTube etc )

Any ideas appreciated thanks, she principally bought the chromecast so she could view the movies on TV, and will probably return it if cannot get this to work.

Sorry.. you won't be able to do this on an ipad.

Can you get those files off from Cartoon HD (I know I can on my android phone) ?

You might then be able to play them using a PC.

Alternative to Chromecast would be an Apple TV.. or an Ipad HDMI cable

Looks like we need an Ipad HDMI cable then... Have seen Apple TV in use at father-in-laws and was quite impressed, but don't want to shell out that much.

I don't personally use the Ipad at all so not au fait with it

Chromecast is quite limited on an ipad - i think you can only use Netflix, Youtube and BBC iplayer

If you've got an Android phone, you can make Cartoon HD stream straight to the Chromecast

Hi Ringo, ( or anyone else who knows )

If I buy an Ipad to HDMI cable, will that definitely enable us to watch content off Cartoon HD on TV screen ?

I have read that some apps such as Skygo prevent you from streaming to big screen from certain devices... just concerned that could also be the case with Cartoon HD, as we will probably splash out on the proper Apple cable.

If she can play them within a Chrome browser on a wireless laptop, that can be used to cast them to the Chromecast. Otherwise not, until the maker of the app updates it to include Chromecast functionality.

If I were her, I'd keep the Chromecast for the day this happens, as it most likely will

What made you think the Chromecast would work with this app?
