Tesco mastercard question

Hi,
I hope I'm not asking a question someone else has already asked.
I had a Tesco Mastercard from 6/2007 to 8/2010 and I'm sure I had ppi on it that was mis-sold due to my being self-employed. Unfortunately, I don't have any statements from this time or the credit agreement or the account number I wrote to Tesco asking if they could check my ppi status on this account, explaining that I didn't have the account number, but providing my date of birth, the dates I had the card and the address where I was living at the time. They wrote back to say they have no record of my account. I definitely had a card and I realise it was a while ago, but I thought they kept records for about six years, in which case, I'm not enquiring too late. I rang and asked if it would help if I sent in a SARS letter with a ten pound cheque and they said that it wouldn't. Should I forget about it, or pursue it through the FOS?LLoyds turned me down for a refund, but changed their mind when the FOS got involved, but in that case I had my own proof that I had been mis-sold ppi. The proof was provided by LLoyds themselves and was from 1998, so surely Tesco should have a record of my credit card account from 2007-2010?
Any advice appreciated!
Thank you.

You can only send a SAR and £10 to be sure.
The FOS can't involved when you haven't even complained yet, or have an account number.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
