HiYa mattytun, there's a thread here just a couple of weeks ago covers your questions. Yes you should hear directly from your local authority.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. my wife renewed her blue badge other week and it took about three weeks before she heard from them , problem was she was refused because she only gets middle rate as far as mobility yet she has had her last two renewals passed they have refused this one.
her condition has worsened over the years and we backed this up with various letters from hospital plus a increasing list of meds so all we can do is appeal and hope for best .0 -

Thanks, I also just put my tracking number in and it said it was sent to my local authority today 5th may
My old blue bade expired last week and I just noticed yesterday, do you think I should ask for an extension and if so who do I ask for an extension
Plus, I got no information saying it was going to expire, I'm sure I used to get a letter................... thanks. Can't sleep, quit counting sheep and talk directly to the shepherd :cool:0 -

Blue Badge without further assessment
Its a brand new system my friend, if you once [one time] apply on line then the online portal will auto generate a reminder each renewal time. Whether anyone who applies direct to the local authority will get a reminder is almost certainly down to the discretion of each individual local authority. Your application was only transferred from the portal to your local authority six [bank holiday] working days ago which I suspect means you made your first application a little late. I would do nothing and avoid 'getting caught out' for another week by which time the new badge will, I'm sure be on your mat. Best of luck.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Hi mattytun,
I have like you just renewed my blue badge online (for the first time online) and am waiting for it to arrive. Once you have filled in the online applicataion you send the necessary information to your local authority (the address is on the website) - proof of who you are, by driving licence or birth certificate etc and a recent letter of proof that you receive DLA high mobilitty rate. You can then track the progress of your blue badge.
I applied a week last Tuesday and two days ago it had information that it had been sent for printing, yesterday through tracking it stated that "your local authority has issued your blue badge on 16/5/14" - so it will probably arrive today or Monday.0 -
Hi today I got some documents to fill in it came in two sections the first 6 pages are all the rules & regulations about the blue badge scheme and the second part was all about me
A lot of the information they wanted was the same as what I filled in online car details-my disability-passport etc. Can't sleep, quit counting sheep and talk directly to the shepherd :cool:0 -

Hi Matty,
I received my bluebadge yesterday. I filled in renewal form online on 5/5/14 and then posted photos, letter of proof high mobility DLA, and birthcertificate on 8/5/14 - so from start to finish it took less than 2 weeks.
I suppose it all depends on your local council authority. When you fill online form it is under your council authority. They never sent me any forms after I had applied online, I only had to post them the necessary docs. of proof plus 2 photos.
I was under a different council authority when I last applied (not online) and they charged a fee to cover costs (admin I suppose) but this council did not charge anything.0
