Need proof of address?

Hi everyone, the mortgage company just phoned asking for additional proof of my address as my driving license is at my old address. On checking so is my passport. She said i could use a voting card but (very bad I know) I haven't even registered to vote!
She said they won't take a bank statement or Tax credit letter because they will only use them for one purpose and this is already being used and proof of income.
All our utility bills and creditcard is in my husbands name.So does anyone have any suggestions? I have a next account but haven't used it since last july and they don't issue statements if you don't use it.

Use payslips for proof of income and bank statement for address maybe?
Slightly surprised that you can get a mortgage without being registered on the electroral roll. Even more surprised that your passport has an address on it.
BTW having the wrong address on your DL can get you a fine + points.0 -
Just get your driving license changed, I just did mine online on the gov portal to update the address and its free, Only took about 4 days to come through (although they do say it might be a little longer)0

You should update the address on your driving license anyway - you can do it for free online, and the updated one comes through in about a week.
Furthermore, if you're stopped by the police with an old address on your licence, you risk a £1,000 fine, so it's probably worth doing...0 -
They already have payslips, I didn't know that about the fine but it seems silly to change it now when I move in 4 weeks (don't think we can do it online for free over here in N.Ireland)
Had a brainwave I have a credit union account with a few pound in it so phoned the mortgage advisor and he said that should be ok and to bring my passport aswell. I think by now they've had a whole tree's worth of paperwork off us (all with our address on it I might add).
I am on the electroral just not for here as we are only living her temporary, the mortgage advisor did say that this would help but by the time it actual updated it would make no difference to our mortgage application and that they should be able to find us as we have a creditcard and car finance and a next account so lots of credit to this address in our name.
Fingers crossed it's plain sailing from here, thank you for your replys.DEC GC £463.67/£450

I noticed this as well... I'm not aware of any British passports having the holder's address. Maybe the OP is referring to the bit at the end where you can write in the addresses of people to contact in the event of something happening to you. In which case it's completely useless as proof of address because (a) It's someone else's address and (b) you could write anything in there.
Do you have any letters from your conveyancing solicitor sent to you at the correct address? They might accept those.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

Your completely right it doesn't have an address you'd have thought the woman on the phone would have pointed that out, I just assumed as I had applied for it at my old address. I hadn't even checked.
I do have the solicitor letters but it says MR & Mrs xxxx so not sure if that would be ok, there happy with his address just want more proof of mine.DEC GC £463.67/£450

If your name is Mrs xxxx then it would be fine, if a solicitor's letter is acceptable to them. Anyway, it sounds like you resolved this while I was typing my earlier post...Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
