Weird Skype Problem Help???

I am always signed into Skype on Firefox and Windows 8.
Today when I click the icon it just flashes a blue screen for like 2 seconds and takes me straight to normal Firefox home page. There was a microsoft update yesterday but did not mention a Skype update included.
I tried going to Skype help for cannot remember my password and have timed out for the next 24 hours.
When I google its about a different blue screen problem.
