What happens when my 1 year of work related ESA is up

I know I have to reapply just meant that do I have to go through the medical again, and if I fail like I did originally go through tribunal again etc.

I ask for a few reasons, one I am thinking of moving from the area to one with rent over £100 per month cheaper on average(and in some areas £150 less than I am paying now) due to being a poor area, however its a place with much more work available and a few miles from a large city which has work available so I think if I move I may get a worse medical, and that I may lose points as I moved as I said in previous I often do not leave house for long periods of up to 2 weeks, and with no jobs in current town apart from seasonal that go almost straight away and a lot of work in the area I want to move to they may say I do not need the support etc.

Just wanted some dicussion on this please.

If you apply for income based, you don't need to go through a medical again - because your change in circumstance is that your ESA has ended and not because your condition has changed.

You need to apply for Income Related ESA when your CB runs out.

Having significant savings or a working partner will generally exclude you from getting IR ESA.

No further medical assessment will be required until your normal review date.

IR ESA will not in any way trigger this.

My CB ESA award is for 2 years so I will be re-assessed at the end of that time after 1 year of IR ESA.

Ok, I think I understand, anyway its income based as I had not worked enough before, and the only "savings" I had was the backdated award payment as it took about 6 months to get sorted and about 6 months worth of DLA too at lower rates.

All I know is it said something about the payments being for 1 year and social worker mentioned filling in more forms then so I assumed I would get another medical.

So you are on income related ESA now?

In which case the year mentioned is likely to be your award length which means medical re-assessment.

But ATOS are in such a pickle at the moment that DWP are deferring re-assessments for some time so you might be ok for now.

You will continue to be paid as long as you do not get a "fit for work" decision which would only happen after a medical.

I am sorry I thought you were currently on Contributions Based ESA.
