Building reg in Scotland

Do I need to tell the council about this work?

The plan is to amend the "store" to make the WC/Store into a shower room. This will probably require the toilet to be moved to the store, with a showertray fitted where the toilet is now (due to sloping roof height). Walls are stone, floors concrete, and they are both under the same tiled roof so no amendments to layout as such.

You may well do as it is a change of use and will probably require to have a fan installed. Look at the council's website or give them a phone.

There's no change of use - and no external alterations, so the Council won't be an issue at any stage. Just make sure the work meets current Regulations - your tradesmen should be aware.

Just to be sure, you should ask your local building standards officer, and get a reply in writing/email - otherwise it could be a pain when selling and you have to do a regularisation cert. to keep lawyers happy...
