best forum for advice

Just got a ticket from the company we are not allowed to mention
As posts regarding this firm are under censorship my friends says that there is another forum where they are not censored.
I have searched but can not find this other forum can anyone point me to it.
No disrespect but I do not want to rely on advice from a forum where the company involved is allowed to censor the replies.
Thanks.

    Thanks.

You'll still get decent advice here - we're just careful not to call a particular company scammers or cowboys.

Thanks yes that is the forum they mentioned, I can not afford to get this wrong as they want a lot of money, all I did was visit the same store twice in one day.
Will try that one where the company can not censor the answers
  • In my opinion, I think a rule stopping the calling of names is rather helpful and it allows the forum as a whole to focus on the matter at hand, and that is, helping people get their PCN's dropped.

I think I understand what you are saying here, but if you mean the name of the PPC should not be revealed (as per this OP) then that won't be helpful because advice can be somewhat different between dealing with (say) ParkingEye and (say) oor Trev at ANPR Ltd.

We need to know the 'who' in order to give the 'how'.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • By "calling names" I meant like nasty names. I think we are allowed to call them by their legal name aren't we?

Yes of course, but what MSE does not seem to understand is that "insulting" is not the same as "libellous". It's perfectly possible to insult a person or a company without libelling them. Mere insults aren't actionable unless they are also libellous.

IMO describing a company as "cowboys" would be insulting but not libellous. Describing them as "scammers" would be both insulting and libellous, unless you can prove it's true in which case it's merely insulting.

  • Janpie, there seems to be three main forums concerning themselves with private parking companies.

This one is great. Great advice, with the scope for a bit of "blue sky" thinking. Lot's of great characters, scarred by Parking Eye, and their people who have hounded us through the courts. They sometimes get a little passionate. It sounds like the people who run this site may have been nobbled by Parking Eye. Rather than sift through the facts, this site has taken a blanket approach to the nobbling, and probably need to grow a set. Again, the individual posters are superb.

Pepipoo is full of learned friends, who seem to enjoy the pedantics of the law. I suspect that they probably give extremely robust advice, but when posting, you have to tow the line. If you want a bit of a blurt, this is probably not the place.

Parking Prankster........specializes in Parking Eye defence, top guy, and as evangelical as they come. Seems to have a real grip on the issues involved in the injustice involved with Parking Eye. I suspect he may dislike the model Parking Eye have adopted. As keen as I am, to bring individuals to account for their actions.
