Can i use plastic coal bunker as compost bin ?

Morning, I am upgrading to a woodburner. I have a large plastic coal bunker. The large rectangle style with a hinged lid. I have been told it is no good for a log store. Is there any reason not to use it as a compost bin.

Can't see why not, if it has an open base. All the Dalek-type compost bins are made of plastic.0
