Would you report someone for benefit fraud?

If you knew they were a two parent family but claiming to be a single parent so they get enough benefits not to work?

Is there anyway that the person can find out it is you that reported them?

they wouldn't be told who it was that called in, you ring, give details and wait for it to blow up.

I would if I had evidence. I am almost certain that is exactly what my neighbour is doing as there is a lot of facts that leads to it, but, I am not 100% certain and on this basis, I won't until I do.

Yes, I would, and it is unequivocally the right thing to do.

And no, they can't find out who made the report.

    I most certainly would.

If there were less fraudulent claims, there would be more money for the genuine ones.

If you suspect they are, then report them. The revelvant authoirty will investigate whether they are a benefit thief.

You can report them online or by phone and you don't have to leave your details.

RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Just to say, I work in Benefits and am married to a Benefit Fraud Investigator. He says that it's sometimes harder to prove a case when it's an anonymous allegation but that shoudln't stop anyone from reporting suspected fraud.

FBaby, just to say that if you are able to give details of what you suspect, they will always do some background investigation before even contacting the customer so if there is no case, it wouldn't go anywhere anyway.

Its tough depending on the situation i.e someone just wants as much money as possible to live a good life or someone who is struggling i.e someone with social issues and low self esteem is told if they get a partner they would lose money would mean they basically rot away afraid of human contact then I wouldnt report them if they got a partner, if someone who has a low income meets someone but struggles to make ends meet I generally wouldnt report if they got a partner within reason

Then again it also is a little different if they have a partner then claim benefits as a single parent and they are not already claiming then get a partner.
