Hello
Just popping over from your other thread
Have you been over to the Old Style board? What they don't know about making the pennies stretch isn't worth knowing :money:

I do lurk there. Im hoping i can reduce my insurance policys soon when they are up for renewal, ive reduced my phone budget and reduced my food budget whilst still eating 'proper' food.
I know on my other thread soundproofing was suggested but the noise usnt just from adjoining walls the sound is travelling from next doors lounge up to my bedroom so surely it is the floor that is helping transfer the sound as well as walls? Ive spent a lot of money i dont have decorating so i dont think its that simple.
I will tomorrow spend some time on the old style boards.
Thank you for your support. It is appreciated more than you know.0 -

Now the fun bit
:
Divide your total debt by the number of months until you think it will all be pad off. How much is it? That's how much you need to overpay to knock a month off. You owe around 10k and I think you said you thought it would take 7 years? Well, that's over £1400 a year, about £120 a month. A lot of money. But - it's only £3.84 a day :T. Didn't you say you'd spent £3 on lunch? Well, if you hadn't spent that you could have moved 19 hours earlier . 64p for a Mars Bar? That's 4 hours . B*ll*cks to that, wouldn't you prefer to move at 3am than have a Mars Bar :rotfl:. Seriously, that's how to view all these little spends and savings. Turn it into a game and compete against yourself. Set up a spreadsheet or a note book to record overpayments and when you knock a month off you can give yourself a gold star *. Keep a note of your original payoff date and revised date and mark progress.[/QUOTE]
Absolutely love this idea, it puts all the little spends into the bigger picture.
Eeally enjoying your diary g_n_f, keep up the good work.Every Penny's a Prisoner.

Just re-reading this to remind me where I began. I still over spend on child related treats and am still a comfort eater but have achieved so much since discovering these forums. My DFD is now 84 months away, that's still forever away but I WILL be debt free before then, I'm determined. I meal plan, and always shop with a list. Haven't succeed in cutting out impulse buys at the supermarket but have definitely reduced them. At least I'm heading in the right direction these days!0
