So you believe that one third of London's population being born abroad has no effect on house prices whatsoever?

Why bring "abroad" into this? I moved to London twenty-odd years ago, from Newcastle (with a short stint in the home counties to get a degree), and have done at least as much to drive up property prices as the average foreigner.

What has the nationality of the London-bound got to do with anything?

The solution, of course, is to ship out all the locals who don't work or can't pay their own way...

I read the petition. No way!

I don't like the high price of houses, but the answer is to remove the restrictions on supply and then let the market do it's job.

Removing "speculation", or rather removing the lawful right for someone to sell to someone else that wants to buy, would be horrifically counter-productive.

I for one don't want to live in Cuba or North Korea, thanks.
