Question on TSB Current Accounts
Comments
-
I just applied (successfully) online to change my account from Classic enhance to Classic plus but I have nearly £6K in this account now so I'd like to apply for another, can I do this immediately or do I need to wait any amount of time?
You will only get interest on £2K in a Classic Plus.
You are allowed 2 Plus accounts, and you should be able to apply for the second one immediately.
But you won't get interest on £6K.0 -
Yeah, I'll go for a second plus account, I think Nationwide will be my next target so I can get interest on the rest but will there be a certain amount of time that I would need to wait until I apply for it?
It's also worth asking; will applying for this number of current accounts affect my credit rating in the short term?0 -
I wouldn't wait, but then again I don't need any credit so a 'dip' for me is not a problem.Yeah, I'll go for a second plus account, I think Nationwide will be my next target so I can get interest on the rest but will there be a certain amount of time that I would need to wait until I apply for it?
Probably not, although we're all different. In early 2013 I obtained 3 x BoS Vantage, 3 x Nationwide FlexDirect, and a Tesco credit card within a very short timescale. I'm of the opinion that current account searches aren't viewed as negatively as credit card and loan searches. Obviously that's only an opinion, so if you've an important mortgage application to make shortly you might wish to hold off on the searches. It's also worth asking; will applying for this number of current accounts affect my credit rating in the short term?0
