The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best

Cats are awesome! Poor kid, hope he was OK.0

The attack on the poor child was awful and it would probably have been much worse without the cat.
My cat did something similar, but it was another cat she saved. Here is the thread from last year.

Not sure about the parent though
I posted this in DT yesterday and a lot of people have said the same thing.
I think the reason that the mother ran off was because she saw the dog returning and went to ward it off. There are some reports that say she also got bitten in the process.0 -
Don't really understand how a dog can do that to a child and end up being "under observation"....0

This is exactly why all dogs should be muzzled. Not only in public, but at anytime when near kids. Of course the dog-owner is totally responsible for what happened, but the dog should be put down immediately as it can never be trusted in future.
The poor little boy...I hope he has recovered fully. I dont suppose he will enjoy being out with free-ranging un-muzzled dogs ever again.
Fantastic cat though....extra treats for him!:A Goddess :A0 -
My insane tortie would see off any dog, but then she'd turn and attack me out of sheer temper."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

No dog in our street would ever have attempted to stray onto my property when I had 'First Cat Timmy'. he scared the whole lot of them - including the Dobermans up the top of the street! he used to accompany me and our Staffy on the first hundred yards of our walk - then go and tease the Dobermans, by laying on the top of their enclosed run. Luckily their owner thought it quite amusing! said it gave them some exercise leaping up trying to catch the tail he used to dangle down between the Wires. When they passed my house though - Timmy used to hiss and fluff up his fur - and they used to virtually pull their owner past!!!!!!!
and I think the cat WAS defending a child it saw as part of its 'family'!0 -

I interpreted it as observation for rabies or something like that - not behaviour. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
