Buying Laminate Flooring

Long story short... I want laminate flooring in my living but don't have a clue how to measure for it or how many packs to buy.

Blonde woman here who is totally useless at DIY so any advice is much apprciated

How many metres across the room and how many metres long?
For example 3 metres x 4 metres would mean you needing 12 square metres.

If a pack has 1.5 metres of laminate you'll need 8 ie 8 x 1.5 = 12

As above and you could also use this to work out the size of the room - http://www.online-calculators.co.uk/diy/roomarea.php

Then divide this area by the pack size (it varies by brand) and allow extra for cutting (and !!!!-ups!). If you buy too much, you can usually return full packs if they're unused/unopened, but check this before you buy.
