Eurotunnel Tesco Clubcard problem!

Hi there
We are going on holiday via the Eurotunnel to France in July. My OHs stepdad kindly said they had Tesco Clubcard Vouchers we could use on the tunnel and converted them to Eurotunnel vouchers for us to use. When I called today to ask a question about booking on the phone the lady said that the Clubcard holder must be the "Lead Passenger"! As much as I love the inlaws, we certainly aren't bringing them with us! None of the surnames match (step etc), does anyone know a way around this. It would be such a shame to waste them! All help/guidance appreciated!
Thanks

If those are the t&Cs then you have to abide by them - most vouchers are non-transferable, meaning that they are for use by the holder of them.
Sorry it isn't better news, it should have said something like this in the terms and conditions when they exchanged them.0 -
part of the t and c
• Token codes are not transferable
There maybe something more specific in the general terms0 -
Appreciate your replies. Looks like we are stuck with them. Might just pretend they worked so we don't look ungrateful!0

If your step-FIL rings Tesco they will probably say he can swap the Euro Tunnel vouchers for new Clubcard vouchers.
These could then be handed to you for you to exchange them online for Eurotunnel.
Might take a few weeks to organise though.0 -
Cant you just put your step dad on booking as lead passenger and not travel?0

When I called up a second time they said on departure they'd check the passports against the ticket in the lead passengers name and the ticket wouldn't be valid without the lead passenger travelling unfortunately. Thanks though.0 -

Yes, going to do this actually - good idea! I hope they are flexible! I will deal with the family sensitivities well I hope!0
