Hi All,

I have hit a massive brick wall and have absolutely
NO idea of what I can do.

Ordered a dining table from a furniture store on January 24th with delivery 10-12 weeks.

Phoned them up during the 11th week to see if everything was on track for delivery was informed it was.

Called them halfway through week 12 as had not heard was told it was at the warehouse

Week 13 called them and was informed it was held up at customs

Week 14 called them and was informed that it was on the seiche shipment container not the first.

Week 15 called them and was guaranteed delivery of item.

This week told it will be another week before it's collected from the warehouse and another few days to be delivered.

Now I am completely fed up of being lied to when the goods were paid in full up front. I really have no idea what to do the manager is not responding to my telephone calls and I'm getting no where.

Is there anything I can do I've been patient long enough now

Thanks

  • You've paid for something you haven't received in the time stated that it would be received.

Doesn't that give you grounds to cancel the contract and ask for a refund?

I'm not sure but someone on here will be. What method of payment did you use?

I have come across this problem before with a supplier or two, I think it was due to a major storm in China seas or at least that's what they told us. The order was about 6 weeks late in the end.

Many of us retailers, give you the customer information we are given by our supplier who in turn --- you get the idea and believe me its as frustrating for us as it is for you.

Unfortunately there are a myriad things that can happen between you ordering and the store actually receiving the goods in good condition into the UK and clearing customs.

If I were you I would send them notice you require delivery within the next 7 days stating that "time is of the essence" and asking for a full refund if delivery is not made within this time limit.

    Good Luck

Send a letter still saying time is of the essence and you will allow 10 days for delivery before you will require a refund for their breach of contract . Saves time in case it doesn't show up next week
