Bought the wife one for Chrimbo 14.1" Screen £400 AMD jobbie and I have been impressed with the features and build quality. I have a HP & Fujitsu Siemens Laptop from work both costing nearly 3 times as much and to be fare the Acer is as good a build quality, and for the money a bargin compared to my other two.
Had to add additional memory up to 1GB but other than that it's been faultless.Cheers

Wouldn't reccomend them have seen many issues due to poor build. Flatmates one and his gf's have just had the hinges replaced on the screen as they cracked. Fairly cheap to do but not what you expect.0

it seems its like anything...you pays the money and yous take the chance.
ive heard a few acer laptops users who like them also (though its a different company) dell users have similar complaints.0 -
I have an Acer 5051AWXMI purchased from ebuyer for less than £400 (Its now £299 on ebuyer).
Its far better than the Toshiba and HP I own and the Fujitsu I use at work.
Top value for money.
Will not touch Dell...... ever0 -
We have an Acer Aspire and it's ok so far, you'll hear good and bad for just about everything out there. Your choice !

I've had my acer Travelmate for almost 2 years - still running fine, although the battery has lost some of its life (to be expected)0

I've got a 5051 too. It's ok. Works well and the build quality isn't too bad. I've only had it just over a month so can't say how it'll last but I'm happy with it.
In retrospect though, I wish I'd spent (or saved) an extra £80 or so and got a Dell off eBay. But I'm still happy with my purchase."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
