Lloyds PPI Claim

Hi,
I have recently contacted Lloyds about PPI on a previous loan.
I hadn't bothered before as I never take out anything like that and thought it would be a waste of time. It was only when a colleague mentioned he had reclaimed from Lloyds as they added PPI without his knowledge I thought i'd get in touch.
I knew I had one loan so thought it was worth a phonecall and to my utter surprise and disgust I was told by the staff (Lloyds PPI line) that their system showed 4 seperate loans all settled and each one had PPI added to it.
To say I was shocked is an understatement, I was angry and felt like i'd been mugged. How they got away with it for so long is beyond me.
So the loans I had amounted to just over £12,000 though I don't have any other figures whether that was the loan amounts only or inclusive of PPI.
Not only would I have refused to take out PPI on principal anyway, but as part of my employment my employer provided an Accident & Sickness Policy which would have paid my full salary for a period of upto 2yrs had I needed it.
Basically it looks like they've added it without my consent.
So I sent off the claim letters Lloyds sent me around 3wks ago so i'm just waiting to hear back from them.

They would't have added it without your consent, you just don't remember signing for it.
If you want to check for sure, send them a SAR and £10 and see what they come back with.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
They told me that they could not find any details of PPI on 2 loans and 3 credit cards over 15 years . I know it was charged but when they were all cleared I got rid of all reciepts. DO NOT EVER trust Lloyds. As far as I am concerned they are C*^*$s.0

Did you send them a SAR?
Although really, unless you bank with them, they're unlikely to keep any records because they are supposed to destroy them when they are no longer necessary.
If you didn't keep your own records from 15 years ago, why are you relying on them to keep them?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
I am puzzled as to how that can happen. The CCA clearly shows the amount borrowed, the amount of PPI, rate, term etc. Nothing is in 'small' print.
So are you saying you signed the CCA without reviewing the details first.?Hi,
Basically it looks like they've added it without my consent.0 -
The truth is that most people under the impression that the insurance must have been added without their consent believe Claims Company-sponsored myths that this often happened and/or have forgotten agreeing and signing for the insurance.welshgasman wrote: »So are you saying you signed the CCA without reviewing the details first.?
Luckily (for them) many PPI complaints are upheld for entirely different reasons than those actually given by the customer.0
