Can I dispute parking here?

Hi
I would like some advice as to whether or not I should dispute a parking ticket if it comes through the post?. I was parked for under 2 minutes and a parking warden managed to take a couple of pictures but I just drove off. (i was out of the car)
I wasn't entirely sure about the rules of white hatched lines, I know yellow hatch lines you cannot park, there are 2 small signs saying do not park on the gate near by.. (which I saw afterwards) I thought as I was only going to be 2 mins it wouldn't cause any hassle to anyone..
is it just worth me paying the fine or is it viable for me to dispute it?
I read that fines can be sent through the post if caught on CCTV, but what about tickets from a parking warden? he didn't ask me to wait while he writes out the ticket..
Also, It has been on the news beginning of the year that some councils allow a 5 minute period.. but this seems like a bit of a long shot as I cannot prove it and its a bit of a grey area.
regards
Byron

Get a new highway code book.
Double yellow lines, Sign on the wall says no parking at any time. Obstruction of the gateway.
Keep your fingers crossed that you got there in time and them not having wrote your ticket.
They wont ask you to wait. They dont care if you drive off. Once its in their
machine the jobs done.
