Wedding dress help

So very long story short I paid £850 to have my dream wedding dress made by a local dressmaker. After showing her photos of what I wanted she said she was confident she could make me the dress of my dreams. I had two measurement sessions and then last week went for my fitting. The dress was awful, didn't fit and was nothing like the photo. She refused a refund and role me in order to finish the dress she needed another £200. I refused to pay this. Then after returning home asked me to collect the dress. I collected the dress in the hope I could sell it on. When I got it home I discovered it was a lot worst than first thought. All the edges are frayed and there is a huge hole at the back about 12 inches across which basically shows my !!!! when the dress is on??
I have asked for a refund which has been refused and she said it is a finished and perfectly fine dress.
What are my rights and where do I stand? I have now been left with not enough time to go elsewhere for my dream dress so have to resort to a second hand dress as I have no time or money left.

Return the dress, alongside the images of the dress that you had agreed on, and give her a letter stating that she has 14 days to either make you the dress that you wanted that fits, or give you a full refund, otherwise you will take her to court.
Before you take it back, take LOTS of dated photos showing the poor workmanship, ill-fitting, and how it is nothing like what you asked for.
I'd also get someone to come with you to take it back, to act as a witness that you have delivered a letter before action.
If you hear nothing after 14 days, then start the small claims court procedure.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Take photos as suggested, inc as far as possible mirroring the position/angles of the sample photos you provided to reduce the amount of judgement required to deem if they are similar or not.
How did you pay for it? Credit Card? Debit Card?0 -
Any wedding insurance?0

This.
Pretty spot on advice here so take heed. If she refuses to accept it back then leave it in the shop and walk out. Your witness can swear an affidavid if necessary.0
