Sony-terrible customer servie

I bought a much loved and well used Sony sports waterproof Walkman back in Jan 2012 from Argos (RRP £59.99). I think my charger has broke (the charger light no longer comes on cause unknown) and so consequently my Walkman is flat out of battery. I raised my problem with Argos and they've referred me to Sony.

First email to Sony was replied back to in good time but got an apology and a link to which they expected me to buy a new charger for £47.18. I responded with a second, angrier email to Sony stating that it was ridiculous that they expected me to pay virtually the price of the product again just because charger has stopped working less than 2 years from purchase. Sony replied back with apologies again but stated that the price includes delivery and VAT :mad:!!! I think this is a terrible response from Sony :(
