I'd say this was the best reply. You could of course rejected the cooker outright and insisted on a full refund. You didn't. You have agreed on a repair. Tell JL you are disappointed as you only have so many days holiday a year. An email to Chairmans Office is in order.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
You might get some vouchers out of them if you speak to JL direct, but I wouldn't hold my breath with regards to compensation.
About a year ago JL installed a new dishwasher in my house, but they did it incorrectly and it proceeded to flood the subfloor of my kitchen over a period of three weeks before I realised what had happened. JL's response was very slow and bureaucratic. It turned out that the entire kitchen had to be ripped out, plus the kitchen floor, leaving me without facilities for months. I found it very stressful to coordinate all the work (JL didn't organise a single thing), get quotes, get workmen in etc (I work full time). Then JL's claims handling company were very unsympathetic and refused to pay compensation and only paid for parts of the work. They even argued over the lack of shopping receipts for ready meals!!
Awful experience overall. The funniest bit was when JL told me they couldn't get hold of their insurance company for weeks. It then turned out that JL the retail business is insured by..... JL the insurance business! You couldn't make it up.
Good luck, I hope you'll get it resolved and end up with some vouchers at least.0
