Having taken your previous advice that private parking companies couldn't enforce parking fines we outstayed our welcome at a PE car park by 1 hour 19 minutes. On returning to the vehicle and finding no windscreen ticket we (wrongly) assumed we had avoided the fine. Little did we know they had installed the dreaded number plate recognition system on entry and exit.
We received our £85 charge notification with time stamped photo's of our vehicle arriving and leaving fairly soon afterwards. This was when I found out the advice to ignore was no longer valid. I appealed with one of you template letters and am now in receipt of my POPLA appeal form. However, as I have no good reason other than a good lunch and a shopping trip to explain why I was 3 hours and 19 minutes in the car park as opposed to the 2 hours allowed how do I go about successfully appealing the charge?

Well, now you properly understand how the boards work, why not take the current advice instead?
Start with the Newbies Sticky and remember that your individual situation has little if any bearing on this - instead you need to use the proven challenges therein.0 -
'How to win at POPLA' is fully linked with examples in the 'NEWBIES please read these FAQs first!' sticky thread - you could copy & paste one almost verbatim, check/amend it a little and submit it online to POPLA within 20 minutes tops.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
