Tesco Clubcard App Clanger!

Well, Tesco have dropped a Clanger with their Clubcard app!

They've released a new version which only works as a trial in certain stores.

Now, many users like me, have their phone set to automatically update apps as they become available.

I now have an unusable app on my phone as my local stores are not ones the new app works in so I can't use my phone to scan my clubcard at the checkout!

Anyone else affected by this? Maybe Martin can look into this with Tesco?

Have you considered uninstalling the update?

Maybe you could ring Tesco and put pressure on them.

what on earth is wrong with the keyfob mini clubcard on your keyring?!?!?!?!

I really don't get the need for an "app" for every little detail of life, someone will bring one out soon telling you when to wipe your nose/bum....

.....and yes I could point to some people who would need such an app ;):D

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

I concur, have a Clubcard and Nectar fob on my key ring, KISS, keep it simple stupid
Why this pathetic addiction to having an app for everything?
That gum you like is coming back in style.

"An app a day keeps Android at bay..."!
  • Tweeting Tesco might be the best way of getting a response quickly. As for the poster above I could say what is this pathetic addiction to carrying pieces of plastic on their key ring (I certainly don't). Funny how you find more Luddites in the technology forums than actual technology experts. Attitudes and totally pointless comments like this could explain it...

I must be from ice age then as I DO NOT own or rent a smart mobile of any sort at all. So no Apps here tee hee. We still use actual CC at tesco & on line.
  • Got our T points this week, and two vouchers were blank. Thanks to the E station being cheaper, we managed in the last six months to get £3 worth of vouchers.

We will visit and see the chavs on their apps soon.

So what's with your pathetic addiction to physical possessions?

I can choose to carry a dozen loyalty cards around in my wallet, making it double the size, causing me to faff about searching through them at the checkout...or I can just carry my phone.

You'd rather have the stuff, I'd rather not. Either way, I don't really think it's anything to get worked up about.
