Meanwhile in the USA: Security Company Issues Fake tickets, possibly fooling drivers

A few parallels with the situation here, although it would be nice of the UK Police would take an interest and state that there could be possible fraud being committed by private company's issuing parking tickets on private land, Article here:

From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"

Well we know here that the dvla will give keeper details to any PPC for profit, and they all use the impersonation of authority to get payment. It's a disgrace that a government organisation sells to private companies, in the US it could be considered fraudulent !
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

So if the PPC is not an AOS with the BPA they can still get the RK details but cannot legally pursue the RK for the so-called debt, only the driver? Like in Scotland?
    cheers

Not sure about that. The situation in the States appears to be worse as DMV information is apparently freely available to everyone.

And take a look at the information held on the left of this one.

Nope, to get keeper data a PPC has to be an AOS member with either the BPA or the IPC. They cannot get the data by paper application unless they are a landowner...or unless they are called Proserve and tell the hapless DVLA that they are not a parking company...
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
