You could add £10 per person each month towards emergency cash. Not sure if you'd be allowed the full entitlement with you only having your children 4.33pcm? Hopefully someone with similar experience to this can answer?

Also do you pay for activities for your children when you have them? If so I believe £5 for each a week is acceptable.

    Hi Noodles,

A few adjustments - I have my two children every other weekend hence the average of 4.33 days per calendar month.

    Rent. 560
    Council tax. 76
    Content Ins. 10
    Gas. 50
    Electric. 25
    Water. 54 (not on meter)
Food 273 (30 to cover 4.33 days pcm I have my kids, plus 33 for work)
    Clothes. 40
    Dental/Opt. 12
    Prescription. 5
Sport/Enter. 20 (this is allowed on Beatmydebt so I'll ask OR!)
    Hair. 10
    Phone/web/pay go mobile 50
Sky basic. 21 (this is allowed on Beatmydebt PDF help guide)
    Tv licence. 13
    CSA maint. 227
Car ins. 37 (car needed for 30 mile round trip (x2) to get kids)
    Tax. 22
    Car Maintenance 30
    Petrol. 50
    Emergency Fund 10
    Kids expenses 20

That takes me to £1615 so if the OR does not allow my £20 a month sport/ent allowance I'll be pretty much spot on. I hope!!
In any case I'll just adjust the amount of overtime. How does that work in practice? Do I submit payrolls and bank statements to the OR?

There's nothing wrong with showing a small deficit in your SOA.

I do personally think though you'll struggle to justify expences for Sports & entertainment & the Basic Sky package as these are (in my view) deemed as Luxury items which are a no in Bankruptcy.

You say you can cut your overtime down to suit? Do you rely on overtime to cover your basic costs or as a means to have that little extra each month? If its the latter & you don't want to be subject to an IPA/IPO then maybe its best not to do any at all until your AD from Bankruptcy. As the saying goes. You can't have your cake & eat it!!

Every OR is different as in how they assess you & your circumstances. The norm is they ask for you to supply Bank statements & pay slips to confirm your income at the beginning but they can do this at anytime or make any reasonable request for information from you during your year of Bankruptcy.

Your prescriptions amount is too low, it wouldn't cover the cost of a basic medicine so increase to around £7/£8.

Just because beatmydebt says it's allowed, doesn't mean you can have it :) You can technically claim for anything on your SOA but the OR doesn't have to allow it. See this link for more information on what they don't class as reasonable http://www.bis.gov.uk/insolvency/personal-insolvency/income-payments-orders-and-agreements#14. Two things your claiming for are on that list, so some changes are needed :)

Maybe swap Sport/Enter for a holiday fund which is allowed, you could probably also combine your Sky package into a holiday fund and say it's for you and the children to go away :)

Egrescrimp, what is an allowable holiday fund per month for a single guy with two children who live with their mother?

In bankruptcy you cannot claim for children's pocket money. You can put down expenses for covering the children being there every other weekend as it will cost money but it must be reasonable, you can have a holiday fund too but the OR might not let you include them in the holiday fund.

Please remember that the SOA is negotiable, they may say no to something but may increase something else to help cover the costs. The OR isn't there to punish you, they have to be fair though.

Noted by Egrescrimp in a previous post. Think that's a reasonable view of the OR.

You could try for £40, £20 for you and £10 each for your children (remember adults cost more at places like Haven or even going abroad).

Have you included your Step Child who lives with you when it comes to costing? Without this coming across wrong, this child's costs are just as important as your own childrens, if not more so as they live with you each day & are dependent on you & your Partner.
