Good afternoon all,

When it comes to cars, I have no idea about them so please can anyone recommend which budget tyres I should order and get them fitted.

Or if anyone can recommend others? Budget is around £220 ish included fitting. Vehicle tyres for 4 are 205/50/17 89W

Thanks.

Personally i would spend a bit more and get a mid-range tyre.

    Falken/Khumo/Barum etc etc....

You are wanting to stick those on what? A BMW? Good luck when it gets wet if so. You'll have to be very careful with the throttle!

I'd certainly be looking for somehting with a good wet grip rating, even if I paid a bit more.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

Personally I don't think I would buy any of those unless I was driving a hearse.

Do they need to be so highly rated?

I had a quick look on Mytyres and the first I would buy would be the Kumho ones at around £66.

I have bought budget tyres and am still running with two.........I have upped my life policy....lol.

    Ditchfinders - all of them.

    Which car is this?

    I hope it's not a BMW 1 series.

    What is it used for?

School run - long motorway runs - or what?

Camskill do some good prices. What car are they going on?

I can highly recommend Uniroyal (I had rainsport 2's but the 3 is out now), fairly cheap and stuck my S2000 to the road like glue in the wet, and I was one of the few to get out of my road in the snow with them on!

I wouldn't compromise on tyres because its all that connects you to the road but too many people buy cheap ditch finders nowadays and wonder why they wont stop in the rain!

I too would second Camskill - just need to find someone local to fit them (or price match) - try http://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b0s304p60070/Nexen_Tyres_Car_Nexen_N6000_Nexen_N_6000_-_205_50R17_93W_XL_TL_ - I've just adopted a 200bhp Scirocco with them on and whilst I won't replace them with the same when the time comes they're certainly not bad

    Another vote for Uniroyal.

Have them on mine because, as I said originally, wet grip is vital.

Bear in mind that cheap tyres will generally wear down quicker (as well as poorer safety features) so you will have to replace them sooner.

I am far from an expert but the tyre manufactures do a lot of research into the best materials for safety and longevity. Often cheap tyres are not only a safety risk but also a false economy; if you can afford to pay a bit more then I would echo the others who have said this is a much better idea.

I had a company called Event Tyres come out to my home and replace a couple of tyres recently, their prices were good and they did a quick and efficient job.
