Hitachi Capital PPi

Hi, Although I'm an avid follower of the MSE this is the 1st time I've posted. Has anyone had PPi paid back through Hitachi Capital? I had to take a car loan out with them for work over a 5 year term which must have ended about 8 years ago. I rang Hitachi asking about PPi & they simply said that they never charged PPI.. I find this hard to believe but can anyone confirm this or should I still write to them officially asking for details of all charges that I paid on the loan?

If indeed they did, you would have to provide evidence that it was miss sold. If you cant even remember if you had it, then how could you remember if it was miss sold......


They are unlikely to have any documentation now, 8 years on. If you have none either, then its game over and you just have to move on.....

Unlikely Hitachi is responsible, especially as they have told you they didn't do PPI (the insurance will have been with another company). You would need to complain to whoever sold you the policy, presumably the car dealer? If so, the dealer probably wasn't regulated 13 years ago.
What are your reasons for complaint?

Thank you both for your reply. The reason I was inquiring was because I was told that car finance companies were among some of the worst at charging PPI & as the car sales person just kept throwing figures at me then I wouldn't know what I was paying, I was very young.
