Selling House/Property on eBay. Anyone?

Hey Peeps...

Just wondering if anyone has sold a house/property privately via eBay? I've had a gander at it's process and it appears to be a flat £35 for a 28 day listing as a Classified Ad.

Cheers...

I like the fees but I'd be concerned that the pool of buyers would be extremely limited and I think you'd be unlikely to achieve the same ultimate selling price. Who looks for houses on Ebay? Not me anyway.

You are not talking of selling it on ebay, but of advertising it on ebay's Classified Ads..... so all you're doing is advertising it and, as has been pointed out, you'll get a very limited number of people who would even see it there.

It can be useful, for some properties, to do this to bring attention to your actual "house for sale" website/listing elsewhere, but not on its own.

Some agents put all their houses on there for this purpose, to bring people back to their website.

    Haha. Nice idea.

If I was selling I would want to make sure as many potential buyers as possible saw the house. For that the only thing that really matters is getting it on Zoopla and Rightmove. You can use cheap online agents for a few hundred pounds that will get it listed there - so I can see the appeal of that. But I wouldn't rely on eBay to find house buyers!

In future it could take off, but for now I wouldn't rely on ebay alone (or at all tbh)

Create a brochure for your house and advertise in Ebay for £1.
Thus you will get an exposure and still playing by rules of Ebay.
Although they may spot this and remove your ad but really nothing to lose by doing this.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.
