I use my touch-screen almost every day. It's not as good as a mouse, but then, a mouse isn't as good as a keyboard! Keyboard + mouse + touch is more convenient than just keyboard + mouse.
I'm not sure if games count, so I didn't mention them specifically, but there are a couple of great games that work better with touch, such as Kingdom Rush and Shadowrun Returns. Probably not better on a touch monitor, but better on a touch-screen portable device such as a hybrid laptop, definitely.kwikbreaks wrote: »I put up with finger greasy screens on phones and tablets because I have no choice but I hate using a laptop or PC with greasy finger marks on the screen. Children seem to be just about totally unable to keep their fingers off them.
Also try Googling for more information on the following terms: "capacitive stylus"; "capacitive gel"; "handwash".kwikbreaks wrote: »I find Windows 8.1 is quick to bring up the desktop but there is still a shedload of stuff going on in the background for quite a while making it pretty unresponsive during that period. Thecut down touch version doesn't run normal PC programs atall and is tablet only. There was a very good reason netbooks ran XP initially - they didn't have the grunt to run Win 7. When higher power ones came along with Win 7 it was acut down version.
You might want to start a thread asking for SSD suggestions if your HDD isn't doing as well with 8.1 as you'd like, or ask for advice on how to clear unwanted programs from your startup. It could be pre-installed bloatware from your manufacturer, e.g. Acer? Asus?Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.
Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -

I've recently had the RAM upgraded to 2GB so huge worry there. It's the Sony Vaio VPCW11S1E. But what's that got to with the price of fish, when I was just making another suggestion.0
