Total Disastrous Trip To Station - Parking Eye Parking Fine!

Hi folks,
I have a bit of a major issue with Parking Eye.
I took my daughter to the rail station but spotted a sign as I turned to enter the railway station area which said parking cheaper than station!
After dropping my daughter so she could get her ticket and saying I'd catch her up by WH Smiths I followed the sign/road round and spotted entrance to car park.
Unfortunately discovered I didn't have enough change for parking meter but spotted you could pay by phone.
Sooo I started a 20 minute attempt to enter card numbers etc through the phone system.
However the phone system kept asking me for the Reference No on my letter (which obviously I didn't have)
It said on the notice board that you could pay anytime during your visit by phone!
So remembering dearly beloved daughter waiting for me to wave her off I dashed into the station just in time for my daughter to catch her train.
Dashed back to the car park to persue trying to pay for my ticket with yet another 8 telephone calls.
Then I spotted time was passing and I would go over an hour so having not been able to speak to a proper person and I was having to top up my phone to phone the different numbers (not included in my contract) - I decided to drive home and try using my landline to get through to a proper person!:(
I tried another 5 times at home - then had to go out to doctors but continued my phone calls when I got back in.
When I finally got through to a proper person he told me he could only take payment for parking "which was going to happen and how long did I want to park for" he would "have to take £7 which would take me until 8 am the next morning"
I checked the clock and it was gone 6.30 pm by now.
When I explained he said he'd put me through to a supervisor but after waiting for ages nothing happened.
So I sent Parking Eye a Postal Order for £3.00 explaining in my letter all the telephone calls and not being able to pay over the phone.
They in turn sent me a notice that I had not paid to park and had to pay £100 or £60 in a fortnight.
I sent off an appeal with photocopies of the Postal Order, the Royal Mail Track & Trace Code, the Post Office receipts for the Postal Order and the Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Delivery as well as the original letter sending the Postal Order.
That triggered them
Yesterday I got another letter sending me my £3.00 Postal Order back saying it wasn't enough and to refer to their letter.
Also another letter rejecting my appeal but offering an extended fortnight to pay the reduced £60.00
This is all despite me spending most of a day trying to pay by phone unsuccessfully.
I went into town by little metro train yesterday and walked round to the car park and took photos of their signs saying "Pay By Phone" and nothing has changed because I tried the number again whilst there and it still asks for the "Reference No on the letter".
Does anybody have any suggestions what I should do next please because I keep trying to phone to speak to a person but can't get past the automated message asking for the reference number.
Sorry I've rambled but I'm really annoyed

And yet Parking Eye don't like to be called scammers !!! A customer attempts, and does pay, the correct fee and they reject it ! If it looks like one, smells like one and sounds like one then it must be one !
*** MODS - note the VERY careful wording above before getting upset ***
Cricklewood - read the Newbies thread and use the initial appeal template. Parking Eye will reject it and send you a POPLA code. When that happens bounce this thread for assistance on your POPLA appeal."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
If you've already appealed to ParkingEye, have you received a letter rejecting your appeal? If so, this should contain a POPLA code, so appealing to POPLA would be your next step.0

You need to stop taking Parking Eye so seriously and have a good read of the Newbies thread - here:

This outlines your various options for seeing them off.0 -
Have a good read of the Newbies thread linked and learn what GPEOL stands for.
Parking Eye don't even bother sending a reply to POPLA when a GPEOL based appeal is sent in which means you automatically win your appeal.0 -
Unlike what the other poster said ... You do need to take Parking Eye very seriously. They are one of the few PPC's who regularly take matters further.
Seeing them off at the POPLA stage is your best option. The word "gullible" isn't in the dictionaryTickets: 19 [cancelled: 18, paid: 0, pending: 1]
PPC Appeals: 8 [accepted: 2, rejected: 5, pending: 1]
POPLA: 4 [accepted: 4, rejected: 0, pending: 0]0 -
I should imagine your 'phone records might prove useful in this one. Having said that, follow the advice on here (newbies / POPLA) and it's likely you won't need them.
It's time consuming, but the feeling when you win is brilliant! :-)0 -

Hi folks - thank you sooo very much for taking the time to post replies to my somewhat lengthy post.
I'm a widow, live on my own (daughter not too far away) so didn't know what to do.
I got a PoPla appeal form with one of the letters they sent me. I'll follow the instructions in the Newbie thread (I missed that in my panic)
Thank you again0 -
Show us your draft appeal if you want a second or third opinion first. Base it on the usual examples though, and you will win. I'm jut an ordinary wife & Mum and am pleased to help - I also heard from a friend today that she won her POPLA appeal (I wrote it for her and would have eaten my hat if it had not won!).PRIVATE 'PCN'? Please be aware that a POPLA code is strictly time limited - 28 days from issue it expires and your appeal will not be accepted. So please do check the date on the letter that included the code.
There is also a way of checking the expiry date from the code, I don't have the link, but I am sure one of the regulars will point you in the right direction.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
