I ordered a few items from Amazon recently, they were from third party sellers. As i'd missed my parcel delivery due to work I went to the Post Office to collect it. The large box the items were packaged in was battered and torn, and subsequently, one of the items, worth around £12, had apparently fallen out and was missing.
I contacted Amazon via the live chat facility on their website and they promised to send a replacement immediately. It was dispatched the next day, with tracking information so precise I was able to see how far away my delivery driver was (DPD) and pop home just at the right time in my lunch break to sign for the parcel.
As they only took my word for it I think this is excellent service, very pleased! The Post Office were less than interested.
