Possible redundancy

Been with the company for 12 years and there has been a few rumours of a relocation + recently they have been sourcing my work to other staff at the other offices.
So apart from getting my CV up to scratch and looking for a new job how can I go about getting the best out of the situation.

Sounds like you've got your ear to the ground. Decide if you'd be prepared to relocate. Show how you add value - week in, week out.
If they only pay statutory minimum then you'll not get much of a payout, so best start hunting now. Spread word out amongst business contacts, join linkedin, sign up to indeed and other job boards etc.
It took me about six weeks to go through the interviews to job offer - even when the hiring manager and I knew each other and both wanted me in the job.
All the best for your job search0 -
Thanks for the advice.
The relocation will be about 6 hours round trip so I don't fancy that and I don't Wang to move.
I will join link in and have already used a number of job sites.
Wondering if they are allowed to secretly source my work out to other employees so that I won't be missed.
As I've been there 12 years that will mean 12 weeks notice, so I will have 3 months pay along with the pay out, assuming I don't have to work it.0 -
They don't have to do anything secret, they can just redistribute all you work and make you redundant.
If that is what they are planning they should start consulting0 -
So its definitely happening now.
Job put at risk and got second interview next week.
Will get my 12 weeks notice but won't have to work it.
Is there anything else I need to know?
If I don't get a job in the 12 weeks can I claim benefits straight away or do I have to wait?
