Waiting for petitioner to apply for a decree nisi

Hello,

My partner is currently going through a divorce process with his ex.

During mediation, it was agreed that his ex would petition against him on grounds of unreasonable behaviour.

My partner received the forms from the court and he responded by not contesting.

We believe the court has sent his ex the forms required to apply for a decree nisi. This was about 2 months ago and the court have confirmed that they have not received the signed form despite his ex saying on several occasions that she has sent it off!

We think she is "sitting" on this form because it really is of no importance to her to get this divorce process moving.

As the "respondent", what "official" options does my partner now have so that he can see this divorce through to the end?

Thank you and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Ps There are no children involved.

Unlike the decree absolute, there isn't an option for the respondent to apply for a decree nisi.

If your partner has grounds he can apply for a divorce himself (ie start from scratch), otherwise he'll just have to wait for the ex to do it...or wait until he has grounds because enough time has passed.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!
