Confused and Stressed by POPLA

I'm having trouble understanding the content of the popla letters. The more I read the more confused I'm getting. If I get it wrong will I leave myself open to legal action?
I'm in a real panic.

I've sent the first appeal letter to civil enforcement and they've sent a popla number.

Why do they do this to people? Most of us struggle to pay our basic bills as it is.

Would anyone be able to offer me some assistance please? I would be most grateful.

Thank you

A despondent newbie.

they do it to flood their coffers with money, all for profit , no compassion about them , its a money making scheme

if you use a proper popla appeal based on legal terms and not mitigation the chances are that you will win, usually on not a gpeol

if the popla appeal failed , popla would tell you to pay the charge , but that is your decision

some companies dont or havent done court , as yet , others like PE will send out an LBCCC and court papers like confetti

some cases are concluded before a court appearance, others directed to popla if it wasnt used

so many answers, there is no one size fits all

but if you put in a good popla appeal, and win , thats the end of the matter

popla linked threads are in post #3 of the NEWBIES sticky thread

If you're finding it so stressful you can use the paid appeals service, as advertised on the Prankster's website.

    http://www.parking-prankster.com/home.html

For £16 they will appeal your ticket for you and indemnify you from any further charges.

  • Thank you both for replying to me. SevenTowers I think your suggestion is my way forward. Many thanks.

Yes, a lot of people don't want the hassle, but if you do decide to do the appeal yourself come back here and you will get help for free.

  • Mamachilli, to be honest all you need to do is the following:
    1. Find someone else's POPLA appeal in this forum that was successful and copy it (it doesn't matter which one you copy as they have all been successful). (I'm sorry I can't put a link here as I am a "NEWBIE".
    2. Lodge you appeal at: the popla website or post it to POPLA.
    3. Wait for your appeal to be successful.

If you are worried about being taken to court, don't. If you are first person following the directions on this forum to lose an appeal at POPLA, you still have the option of paying the parking charge if your appeal is unsuccessful. The parking charge won't increase if your appeal is unsuccessful.
