Sports Bra Claustrophobia - alternative

Hiya

So I'm currently shopping for some new sports wear and after a recent trip to the gym decided I need a sports bra, I've tried on the tank top type like this:

http://www.sportsdirect.com/nike-pro-sports-training-bra-ladies-426110?colcode=42611001

and it was so hard to get in and out of I felt claustrophobic. Can anyone recommend or tell me where I can a normal bra type one?

You should look for one with a zip on the front, nice and easy to escape from, like this:

Or Figleaves does some with clasp backs, you could probably search for the brands online and maybe find them cheaper:

I think the issue with sports bras is that their function is to hold everything in! I know what you mean about them being a struggle to get out of.

Thanks Fluff i like the look of the zip front one.

I don't mind tight clothes as long as they are easy to get on and off.

M&S do some which fasten in the back perfectly normally too.

  • I wear that M&S zip front one. I wear a 34A although I'm a 34B in normal bras. I wear it for running and it's supportive enough for that. It's really easy to get in and out of. I tried on loads of bras last time I needed one, some I nearly dislocated my shoulder trying to do up clasps across the shoulder blades, and one 'over the head crop top' style bra I got stuck half in half out of in the changing room! Took me ages to get myself out of that!

I think both Shock Absorber and Freya make sports bras with back fastening, M&S as mentioned above also. Always try to get fitted as often you need more/different support from an exercise bra and this can mean the size is a little different.

Shock absorber does do a front zip fastening bra, TBH I think your sports bra is something you don't really want to skimp on, cooper ligaments once stretched stay stretched so it's something worth getting fitted for, im only a C cup and tried the M&S run bra trying to save a few ££ it would be ok for yoga but no way for high impact.

Thanks all for the suggestions, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's had trouble with the crop top style.

I don't need very high impact as I dont run, I do weights, TRX and Cross trainer and I plan to do pilates or yoga as well.

I've tried wearing my own normal one but its not very comfortable and I don't like the idea of getting so sweating in my normal nice bras.

I need to look for one too, but it's hard finding my size in them! I've recently been measure I'm now a 34HH or J! (I was 36H or HH - but I've lost weight :D ) I go to the gym a lot and find that when I'm on the treadmill I need a better bra lol. I'll have a look at Freya as someone suggested, they go up to my size!
