Times/Sunday Times poor service

I've taken up a subscription to the online version of the paper. Week 1 was fine. This weekend no access to the Sunday Times. Nothing on their website yesterday or today about why or even what.
I rang the help line. They have had a problem with the android app. When will it be put right? Don't know. Same story today so I asked to cancel as I have a 7 day cooling off period. Today is the last day to do that. They can't connect me to the department as they are "busy" I said that I wanted to cancel and if I couldn't I wanted to speak to a manager. He agreed to make a note on my file that the request had come in today. I also took his name.
I'm not sure there is anything to be done (emailing them also has no impact) but for anyone out there thinking of taking advantage of one of their reduced price subscriptions be warned- they don't supply what has been promised and are unwilling to tell anyone about it either or indicate when the problem will be fixed.

Have you tried the live chat option on their website. May not work but worth a try?
This is what it says on the website, and live chat comes up as an option in the contact us section, so in theory it should work.Cancellation notices must be given to TNL customer services only (see thetimes.co.uk for up to date contact details). Refunds will only be given if you cancel within the first 7 days of your trial or full subscription start date in accordance with these terms and conditions.0 -
Nope. Been a subscriber since 2010. Always excellent customer service.0
