PPC Ticket / Rented van via work

Hello,
I've read the sticky thread so I hope no one's going to give me telling missing any pre written info!
I've just got a few quick question.
So in short I parked in an empty none assigned space where I live.
I got authorisation to do so thus by having a permits. 2nd night I returned late from the work event at about 12:30AM, went upstairs to get some food and to return to the van to put a pass in... Foolishly I didn't do it straight away. Came down. Parking ticket. No one in sight. Tried to follow it up via the people who manage the building (not the ticket company etc) and got no where. This was in Feb. I was waiting to hear from some one at the management company and never heard anything back nor heard anything from the PPC.
Now my HR colleague has just informed me of a invoice... (luckily I told her to expect one although didn't realise it would come so far down the line)
There's no named driver and the address of my company is spelt wrong.
Question.
This is the second one by all accounts but I assume the first went to the rental company who only gave the company details, no named driver.
Because I didn't have anything displayed they'll have photo's of the van. So I was going to go through with the standard dispute as seen on the sticky thread.
However should I name myself as the driver or not? My company are aware of all this and i've told them it's not a legally binding letter etc and for the minute they seem okay with that but I don't want things to escalate where they then just want me to pay it.
If I dispute it, get a popla code etc etc and despute it on the grounds it was an empty space that has no cost implication along side the fact I still have evidence of the 1st and 2nd permit. Not to mention the photo taken by the PPC will also no doubt show a bright ceramic sheep in the front seat which backs it up for my original intentions of parking it there in the first place for a work event in Leeds.
Sorry to ramble.
To name my self or not... That is the question?

Appeal the ticket as you and as the driver. As it was a windscreen ticket you have kind of missed the appeal period but that doesn't mean you can't appeal ! It's UKCPS .
Hoping the fact it wasn't parked in a number space, thus empty spare space, not costing them anything is a good enough dispute!0 -

You will of course have the same winning appeal points as everyone else, particularly GPEOL.

I suggest you read the sticky thread again. Never appeal to POPLA using mitigation as it will be refused. The appeal points are clearly listed in the newbies thread.0 -

Apologies I didn't make myself clear. I'm going to use the script given for first appeal without saying anything other then what's written and my name etc.
I'm still reading the second stage section but so far everything points out that I need to appeal and not to ignore!0 -
I wouldn't use the mitigated circumstance as like you said it wouldn't mean anything to them. I'd go with one of the POPLA replys based on the no money loss etc (and the other points).0

Okay before I send the first appeal letter. I'm just a bit un-sure/worried about how I will appeal from the second stage given I didn't have the ticket on show in time, there is signage above where I parked (although the space isn't marked on the ground and RMG contracted UKCPS to issue tickets.
Am I right in saying my dispute would be:
-No claim of loses to their company
-Not the land owner etc
-liquidation damage none existant etc0 -
You can try appealing but UKCPS are under no obligation to consider your appeal ... YOU had your chance at windscreen stage. It would still be worth doing so though, just to get it away from your company and the rental company.
At that point UKCPS will likely go the threatogram route, on to debt collectors, and MAY go to court action. If they do then you should be able to construct a very robust defence.0 -
Thanks for advice. I'm going to send the letter off today, I'm assuming because I didn't send it when I first got the ticket that getting the POPLA code and submitting an appeal to them etc that won't be successful either? :S
Do you think if I can get the management company to back my story it will help with cancelling the ticket?0 -
ALWAYS pursue these with the landholder/managing agents anyway.0
